Our Mission at Dragonfly Studios
Nurturing confidence, creative thinking, problem solving, inspiration, and friendship among girls ages 7-11 through creativity, art, and self-expression.
Located in picturesque Ashland, Oregon.
Art at Dragonfly Studios is more than an activity—it’s a journey of discovery. Campers find inspiration not only in nature but in the artists they study, the materials they touch, the colors they mix, and the stories they carry. Their own lived experiences, thoughts, and emotions become part of the creative process, shaping work that is both deeply personal and wildly imaginative. Through painting, sculpture, and mixed media, they explore new techniques while honoring their unique perspectives.
Whether indoors or out, Dragonfly Studios fosters a sense of wonder, creativity, and connection, offering a space where young artists can explore, express, and grow.
Camper safety is a top priority. Our teachers are:
CPR & First Aid certified
Trained in Mental Health First Aid
Cleared through Ashland School District Background Checks

At Dragonfly Studios, we believe that art is more than a finished product — it’s a way for children to discover confidence, imagination, and resilience.
In this six-week fall series, young makers will explore painting, hand sewing, collage, and mixed media in a relaxed, inspiring setting.
Through process-based art and creative play, children will strengthen real-world skills like innovation, problem-solving, decision making, planning, and follow-through, all while learning to trust their ideas and express themselves authentically.
We’ll focus on:
🎨 Experimenting with materials and techniques
💡 Practicing creative thinking and self-reflection
🤝 Sharing ideas and building community
💖 Developing confidence through process, not outcome

“Art has the role in education of helping children become like themselves instead of more like everyone else.”
— Sydney Gurewitz Clemens
Our classes and camps are designed to nurture confidence, creativity, and curiosity—giving kids space to explore, solve problems, and express who they truly are. This is more than making art—it’s growing whole humans.

Empowering Girls Through Art: Meet Camp Directors, Andrea and Lisa.
Welcome to our Dragonfly Studios art camps and classes for girls! We're delighted to introduce ourselves, the co-directors of this inspiring journey. I'm Andrea Matteson, and alongside me is my wonderful mother, Lisa Wiebe. Together, we are deeply passionate about empowering young girls to embrace their creativity and inner strength. Our camp isn't just about art; it's about fostering confidence, resilience, and creative thinking.
Our shared belief in the transformative power of the creative process drives everything we do. We've seen firsthand how art can nurture self-expression and build essential life skills. But it's not just about individual growth; it's also about forging meaningful friendships and weaving a supportive community where every girl feels valued and empowered.
Drawing from our combined experiences, education and passions we've crafted a program that's not only enriching but also deeply meaningful. We're excited to embark on this journey with you and your daughters, guiding them as they discover their unique talents, build lasting friendships, and become confident, resilient young women ready to take on the world. Join us as we create art, memories, and a vibrant community together!
See you at camp! xoxo
